Matt Zafra is a Principal in the Health and Life Sciences practice in Oliver Wyman’s Singapore office, with extensive health care consulting and insurance brokerage experience in Southeast Asia as well as the US. His consulting experience spans health insurance, HMO and wellness, TPA and claims, provider services, digital health, consumer healthcare, and life sciences. His functional focus areas include strategy, go to market model, stakeholder engagement, organizational effectiveness, and ecosystem partnerships.
Previously, Matt was the Health & Benefits Consulting Leader for Mercer Marsh Benefits in the Philippines, based in Manila. In addition to strategic relationship management responsibilities, his consulting work included health and wellness design, vendor management (audit, SLAs, and performance), total rewards strategy, and employee communications. He also worked extensively with hospital and clinic providers to develop new partnerships with employer interests.
Matt joined Mercer in the Los Angeles office and relocated to the Asia Pacific region in 2010. Matt served as a Regional Consultant for Mercer’s Employee Health & Benefits Asia practice, and was project lead for the 360-Organisational Health Assessment and onsite clinic effectiveness solutions. His regional responsibilities and specialization focused on integrated health data design, analytics, and employer health services across markets in Southeast Asia.
Prior to joining MMC, Matt's work experience comes from the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, and at a leading Silicon Valley technology firm in San Jose, California.
Matt holds a Masters in Sociology and a BA in Medical Anthropology, both from Stanford University.
