Prashanth Gangu is a Partner and Head of Americas P&C Insurance at Oliver Wyman based in New York. He advises clients on business strategy, new venture setups, carve-outs, organizational design, outsourcing and large-scale transformation assignments. He also works actively with private equity investors in the Insurance space. He co-leads the firm’s insurtech platform and has also been a keynote speaker at InsureTech Connect.

Throughout his careen, Prashanth has led a range of enterprise and functional strategy work for P&C carriers including a 5 year strategy for a large multinational carrier, valuation and strategy for a large US P&C carrier and organization design for a specialty carrier. He advised institutional investors on (re)insurer, brokerage, MGA, TPA, services and software acquisitions. Prashanth has also advised carriers on various operational transformation efforts across the P&C value chain including improving distribution effectiveness, redesigning underwriting processes, developing a claims target operating model and reducing backoffice operations and IT costs. He is currently working with the World economic forum on the changing nature of P&C risks and impact on society.

Prashanth has published the article “We Need to Approach AI Risks Like We Do Natural Disasters” in HBR and has co-authored various Oliver Wyman reports, including , “P/C: It’s Not Personal Anymore”, “Clear sailing for Commercial P&C distribution”, “Claims Transformation: It’s a people business” and “Bringing value-based care to workers compensation”

Prior to Oliver Wyman, Prashanth worked at the Mitchell Madison Group. He received a post-graduate Engineer degree and a Master’s in Aeronautics from Caltech, and a Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering from IIT Bombay
